As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
MOTORIZED SCOOTER
A device propelled by a power motor, which consists of a footboard between end wheels and is controlled by an upright steering handle attached to a front wheel.
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motorized scooter, as defined herein, on any public roadways and/or sidewalks located in the Town of Dover. It shall also be unlawful to operate a motorized scooter on any public lands within the Town of Dover, including any public parks and the lands owned by the Dover Board of Education.
Any person who violates the provisions of § 239-2 of this chapter shall be subject to a fine of a minimum of $25 and a maximum of $100 for each such offense. In the event that the violator is a minor, the parent or legal guardian of the violator is subject to such fines and penalties.
