A. 
The Township of Franklin currently contracts with Building Inspections Underwriters for building, electric, elevator and plumbing subcode services.
B. 
The Township anticipates that they will, once again, enter into contracts for electrical, elevator, fire and plumbing subcode services.
A. 
The current Building Official has expressed an interest in performing the services of the Building Subcode Inspector.
B. 
The current Building Official is certified and appropriately licensed relative to building subcode inspections.
A. 
The Franklin Township Building Official shall perform a review of all building plans, both residential and commercial, and agrees to perform all building, both residential and commercial, inspections for structural compliance.
B. 
The Franklin Township Building Official shall inspect all construction work in accordance with the State Uniform Construction Code regulations.[1]

C. 
The Franklin Township Building Official shall carry out such inspections during the progress of work as is necessary to ensure that work installed conforms to the approved plans and the requirements of the uniform construction code.
The Township of Franklin has determined that Franklin Township's Building Official's performance of the building subcode inspections will be more efficient than contracting out for such services.
It is in the best interest of the Township of Franklin to create the position of Building Subcode Inspector.
