The position of Fire Marshal of the Township of Haddon is hereby created. No person shall be appointed as Fire Marshal unless he shall be a resident of the Township of Haddon and an experienced fireman. He shall hold office for a term of one year from the date of his appointment.
The Fire Marshal shall enforce the provisions of the Fire Prevention Code,[1] subject to the supervision of the Director of Public Safety, and perform such other duties as may be conferred upon him. Unless specifically set forth in this Code, the Fire Marshal, as such, shall exercise no control, supervision or authority over any of the volunteer fire companies in the Township of Haddon nor any of their personnel in the performance of fire duties.
