GENERAL REFERENCES
Alcoholic beverages in parks — See Ch. 154.

A person who is less than 21 years of age shall not knowingly possess and/or knowingly consume alcoholic beverages on private property, except as provided below.
An underage person is not prohibited from consuming or possessing alcoholic beverages:
A. 
In connection with a religious observance, ceremony, or rite; or
B. 
In the presence of and with the permission of a parent, guardian or relative who has attained the legal age to purchase and consume alcoholic beverages; or
C. 
While actually engaged in the performance of employment by a person who is licensed under Title 33 of the Revised Statutes; or
D. 
While actively engaged in the preparation of food while enrolled in a culinary arts or hotel management program at a county vocational school or post secondary educational institution.
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
GUARDIAN
A person who has qualified as a guardian of the underage person pursuant to testamentary or court appointment.
RELATIVE
The underage person's grandparents, aunt, uncle, sibling or any other person related by blood or affinity.

Any person who violates this article shall, upon conviction, be fined $250 for a first offense and $350 for any subsequent offense. The Court may, in addition to the above, fine, suspend or postpone for six months the driving privileges of the defendant. A person who is less than 17 years of age when sentenced may be subject to a suspension or postponement of driving privileges, including the operating of a motorized bicycle, commencing on the day the sentence is imposed and run for a period of six months after the person reaches the age of 17 years.

No person shall consume, manufacture, store, or dispense in or upon any building owned by the Borough of Haddonfield and not occupied for dwelling purposes any alcoholic beverages of any kind, except as provided otherwise in this article.
The prohibitions in § 65-5 above shall not apply to the Haddonfield-owned building occupied by Haddon Fire Company No. 1, 15 North Haddon Avenue, Haddonfield, New Jersey, under the following conditions and circumstances:
A. 
During those events sponsored and approved by Haddon Fire Company No. 1, and with approval given by the Director of Public Safety (or designee) of the Borough of Haddonfield, alcoholic beverages are permitted to be served and consumed under the conditions and circumstances recited herein.
B. 
The President of Haddon Fire Company No. 1 shall submit an annual written request, on or before December 15, for approval of the known events for the following year, where alcoholic beverages are to be served and consumed. Additional requests may be made during the year as the need arises. Such additional requests for approved events must be made at least 15 days prior to the events. The Director of Public Safety (or designee) shall provide a written response to any aforementioned request within 10 days of receipt of any such request. The Director of Public Safety (or designee) shall transmit all such requests and approvals to the other two Commissioners.
C. 
The above exception in Subsection A above to the prohibition in § 65-5 applies only to the second floor level of the above Haddonfield building at 15 North Haddon Avenue.
D. 
No alcoholic beverages are to be stored at 15 North Haddon Avenue except for use at the approved events in Subsection A and in such event not for a time period longer than 24 hours prior to and subsequent to the approved event.
E. 
No person below the age of 21 years old may be served nor may he/she consume alcoholic beverages at any approved event.
F. 
No person may be served nor may he/she consume alcoholic beverages to the extent that such person's faculties would become impaired.
G. 
No alcoholic beverages shall be served and/or consumed after 1:00 a.m. on the day next following the date of the approved event. This time restriction may be relaxed for up to two additional hours for special events upon the prior approval of the Director of Public Safety (or designee).
H. 
Fire fighters who consume alcoholic beverages at an event approved per the above shall not respond to a fire call for a period of at least four hours after such consumption of alcoholic beverages.
I. 
The Director of Public Safety may impose additional restrictions as the need arises for the health and safety of the citizens of Haddonfield.
J. 
The Director of Public Safety has the right and obligation to remediate any infraction of this article.
Violations of § 65-5 of this article shall be punishable as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, § 1-14.
