A. 
All buildings and lots of land along the streets of the borough are hereby assigned street numbers in accordance with the current Assessment Map of the borough.
B. 
Said map is on file in the office of the Borough Clerk and is to remain there as a permanent record of the borough.
A. 
Every lot, tract or parcel of land within the limits of the borough is hereby assigned the number designated on the above-mentioned map.
B. 
A number shall be assigned to every 20 feet of street frontage.
A. 
All lots facing on streets running in a northerly direction shall be numbered continuously, commencing with the number one.
B. 
All lots facing on streets running in an easterly direction from Maywood Avenue shall be designated by continuous numbers, beginning with number one at Maywood Avenue, and such streets beginning at Maywood Avenue and running in an easterly direction, and all streets which cross Maywood Avenue, shall be designated from the easterly side of Maywood Avenue with the prefix "East."
C. 
All lots facing on streets running in a westerly direction from Maywood Avenue shall be designated by continuous numbers, beginning with number one at Maywood Avenue, and such streets beginning at Maywood Avenue and running in a westerly direction, and all streets which cross Maywood Avenue, shall be designated from the westerly side of Maywood Avenue with the prefix "West."
Said buildings, lots or plots located on the north and west side of any street shall be designated with odd numbers. Said buildings, lots or plots located on the south and east side of any street shall be designated with even numbers.
The owner, tenant, occupant or agent of a building shall ascertain from said map of the borough the correct numbers applicable to said building and place or affix the same on the street side or in front of such building. Such number or numbers shall be at least three inches in height.
A. 
In cases where the property owner, tenant, occupant or agent shall have failed to ascertain and affix upon any building the number or numbers applicable to said building as provided in § 136-5, the Building Inspector shall serve a notice upon the owner, by personal service or by registered or certified mail addressed to his last known address, to affix the required number within 30 days after receipt of said notice.
B. 
In cases where the owner shall have failed or refused to affix said required number within the time provided in the notice, the Building Inspector shall cause to be affixed to said building the number or numbers applicable to the same. Said Building Inspector shall certify the cost thereof to the Mayor and Council. Upon receipt of the certificate, the Mayor and Council shall examine the same and, if found correct, shall cause such cost to be charged to the owner or owners of the land upon which said building is situated. The amount so charged shall thereupon become a lien and tax upon such lands and shall be added to and become part of the taxes next to be levied and assessed upon such lands. Said amount shall bear interest at the same rate and shall be collected and enforced by the same officers and in the same manner as taxes.
A. 
Any person who violates the provisions of § 136-5 shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding $1,000 or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days, or both. A separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.[1]

B. 
The imposition and collection of the penalty or penalties imposed by Subsection A of this section shall not bar the right of the borough to collect the costs described in § 136-6 hereof.
