The following officers of the Borough of Hasbrouck
Heights are exempt from the residency requirement of N.J.S.A. 40A:60-6b(3):
A.Â
Administrator.
B.Â
Assessor.
C.Â
Attorney to either of the land use boards.
D.Â
Auditor.
E.Â
Chief Financial Officer.
F.Â
Construction Official and Construction Subcode Officials.
G.Â
Consulting Engineer to either of the land use boards.
I.Â
Fire Department members but only to the extent that such exemption from the residency requirement is provided in Chapter 28 of this Code.
J.Â
Library Director.
K.Â
Municipal Judge.
L.Â
Professionals, the services of whom are engaged by
contract excepted from the bidding requirements under the Public Contracts
Law.
M.Â
Prosecutor, Assistant Prosecutors and/or Alternate
Prosecutors.
N.Â
Public Defender, Assistant Public Defenders and/or
Alternate Public Defenders.
O.Â
Recreation Director.
P.Â
Superintendent of the Department of Public Works.
Q.Â
Zoning Enforcement Officer.
R.Â
Any person appointed to act on a temporary basis in
the capacity of any of the aforesaid officers.
S.Â
Any other officer the qualifications of whom the nominating
authority has determined could not be found among any resident candidates
for that appointment, but if any candidate be a resident, then a nonresident
shall be appointed only upon the confirmation of the Council on an
affirmative vote therefor by a majority of the entire membership.
