No person shall park a motor vehicle for a period to exceed two hours between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the area known as Middleton Square, bounded and described as the Business District on the Zoning Map of Middleton, as amended.

It shall be unlawful to obstruct or block a private way with a vehicle or other means so as to prevent access by fire apparatus or equipment to any building.

It shall be unlawful to obstruct or park any vehicle in any fire lane, such fire lane to be designated by the Chief of the Fire Department and posted and marked as such. Said fire lanes shall be a distance of 12 feet from the curbing at a sidewalk for a mall, shopping center, hotel or nursing home. Where no sidewalks with curbing exist, the distance shall be 18 feet from the building. The building owner of record shall provide, install and maintain signs and striping as provided above.
This bylaw shall be enforced by the Police Department of the Town of Middleton in accordance with the provisions of MGL c. 90, § 20C, except where uniformed security officers are employed by the owner of the building(s) in which case security officers may be appointed parking control officers in accordance with the provisions of MGL c. 147, § 10F and charged with enforcement of this bylaw.
