The Village of Carthage shall contain, on and after the effective date of this section, in addition to the territory theretofore contained within its boundaries, the following described territory: All that tract or parcel of land situate in the Town of Wilna, County of Jefferson and State of New York and further described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the easterly boundary line of the Village of Carthage and the northerly margin of South James Street (New York State Route 126); thence N 7° 56' 30" E along the easterly boundary line of the Village of Carthage a distance of 761.11 feet to a point in the most northerly margin of Washington Street; thence S 58° 13' 30" E along the northerly margin of Washington Street, passing through an iron pipe set at 375.66 feet and continuing a total distance of 463.19 feet to the intersection of the northerly margin of Washington Street and the easterly margin of Oxford Street; thence S 23° 15' 30" W along the easterly margin of Oxford Street a distance of 167.44 feet to a point, said point is situate S 71° 14' 30" E a distance of 0.16 feet from an iron pipe found; thence S 71° 14' 30" E a distance of 365.00 feet to an iron pipe set; thence S 6° 54' W a distance of 271.96 feet to an iron pin in concrete found; thence S 57° 01' E a distance of 367.95 feet to a concrete monument found; thence S 4° 34' W a distance of 122.80 feet to an iron pipe set; thence N 58° 45' W a distance of 183.46 feet to an iron pipe set; thence S 6° 14' 30" W a distance of 264.00 feet to a point in the northerly margin of South James Street (New York State Route 126), said point is situate N 6° 14' 30" E a distance of 4.20 feet from an iron pipe found; thence N 58° 45' W along the northerly margin of South James Street (New York State Route 126) a distance of 1004.87 feet to the point of beginning; containing 13.881 acres of land more or less; excepting and reserving the rights of the public in Washington Street, Oxford Street, Buck Lane and the alley connecting Buck Lane with Oxford Street.
The territory described in § A149-1 of this Act is hereby annexed to the Village of Carthage pursuant to the provisions of § 714 of the General Municipal Law.
The territory described in § A149-1 of this Act and annexed to the Village of Carthage by this Act shall be included in the 1 Ward (or other election district, if any) of the said Village.
The annexation of the above territory described in § A149-1 of this Act shall become effective on the 21st day of December 1981.
This Act shall take effect immediately.
