[Adopted 7-7-1961 (Ch. 30 of the 1965 Code)]
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
CLERK
The Clerk of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cazenovia, New York.
MAYOR
The Mayor of the Board of Trustees.
PERSON
Any individual, firm, copartnership or corporation or other entity capable of being sued.
VILLAGE
The Village of Cazenovia, New York.
No one shall plow, push, shovel or blow snow from private property onto public streets or sidewalks. It is prohibited for anyone to deposit snow from private property onto any street or sidewalk.

All garbage, bottles, papers, cans or refuse of any type or kind must be placed in covered waterproof containers, and at no time shall be dumped loosely on the ground within the Village limits. House pickup times as designated by the Village Public Works Administrator will be made when leaves and grass may be deposited between the curb and sidewalk in front of a resident's own property.

Except as permitted under the provisions of Chapter 141, no person, company, association or corporation shall display any merchandise for sale between the outside wall of a building and the curbline of a public street, including any item or items in vending machines or otherwise, unless the distance between the building and the curbline is greater than 100 feet or when specifically allowed by the Village Board for special civic events.

Except as permitted under the provisions of Chapter 141, no item or items, including vending machines, shall be stored or allowed to remain between the outside wall of a building and the curbline of a public street, unless the distance between the building and the curbline is greater than 100 feet.
No person shall block a street or alley so as to obstruct the free movement of traffic through said street or alley, and no cars or other motor vehicles shall be parked on sidewalks or between the street and sidewalk.

No section of sidewalk shall be removed without permission of the Village Public Works Administrator, and, if removed, must be replaced and repaired with concrete within 30 days. No sidewalk shall be covered with blacktop at any time.

Every owner or occupant of any house or other building, and every owner or person entitled to the possession of any vacant lot, and any person having the charge of any church or other public building in the Village, during the winter season and during the time the snow shall continue on the ground, within 12 hours after a snowfall, shall keep the sidewalk in front of and the side of such house, building or lot free from obstruction by snow; and shall also at all times keep such sidewalks clean and free from all dirt, litter, filth and other obstructions or encumbrances.

Any violation of this chapter shall be punishable by a maximum fine of $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
