Every person convicted of a traffic infraction
for a violation of any provision of this chapter which is not a violation
of any provision of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New
York shall, for a first conviction thereof, be punished by a fine
of not more than $100 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days,
or by both such fine and imprisonment; for a second such conviction
within 18 months thereafter, such person shall be punished by a fine
of not more than $200 or by imprisonment for not more than 45 days,
or by both such fine and imprisonment; upon a third or subsequent
conviction within 18 months after the first conviction, such person
shall be punished by a fine of not more than $300 or by imprisonment
for not more than 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

The fines for all violations not paid or contested within 10
days of the date of the violation (as determined by the postmark date
for all submissions by mail) shall increase to an amount equal to
the base level fine plus an additional $25. The fines for all violations
not paid or contested within 30 days of the date of the violation
shall increase to an amount equal to the base level fine plus an additional
$50.

Fines which are unpaid after 30 days will subject
the vehicle to immobilization, and/or towing and impoundment, along
with additional fees.
C.Â
The Board of Trustees reserves to itself the power
to regulate and amend the schedule of fines for parking violations
imposed in the Village of Cazenovia by the passage of a resolution
of such Board of Trustees.
A.Â
It shall be lawful for the Village of Cazenovia to
employ certain automobile disabling devices, commonly known as "boots,"
in addition to other remedies already in effect.
B.Â
The Village of Cazenovia, acting through its Police
Department, shall be allowed to identify any vehicle that has an unsatisfied
parking violation and, after such identification, shall be allowed
to disable that vehicle by attaching an automobile disabling device
to that vehicle or have the vehicle towed and impounded.
C.Â
Upon satisfaction of all outstanding parking violations,
fines and fees, the owner of the vehicle shall be entitled to have
the automobile disabling device removed from the vehicle or have the
vehicle released from impoundment.
D.Â
In addition to the fines and penalties imposed for
violation of the parking regulations of the Village of Cazenovia,
there shall be a fee of $50 payable to the Village of Cazenovia for
the installation and removal of the automobile disabling device.
E.Â
Booting shall be transferable to new vehicle if the
plates are transferred.
