§ 6-1 Termination of terms of office of three Assessors.

The terms of office of the three Assessors of the Town of LeRay now in office terminate on the 31st day of December 1983.

§ 6-2 Town to have one Assessor.

From and after the 31st day of December 1983 there shall be but one Assessor for the Town of LeRay.

§ 6-3 Appointment of Assessor; term of office.

On the first day of January 1984 and every six years thereafter the Town Board of the Town of LeRay shall appoint one Assessor for such Town who shall serve for a term of six years.

§ 6-4 Annual hearing.

The Town of LeRay Board of Assessment Review shall meet annually on the first Thursday after the fourth Tuesday of May of each year to hear complaints in relation to assessments placed on real property parcels within the Town. The Board of Assessment Review shall fix the place or places within the Town of LeRay for the hearing to hear complaints in relation to assessments and shall fix the hours of such hearing or hearings, which hours shall be for a period of at least four hours, not necessarily continuous, between 9:00 in the morning and 10:00 in the evening, but in no event less than two hours after 6:00 in the evening.

§ 6-5 Purpose.

This article is adopted to change the annual hearing date of the Assessment Board of Review to coincide with the practice in the Town and pursuant to § 525 of the Real Property Law.
