Editor's Note: This local law superseded former Ch. 75, Games
of Chance, adopted 4-6-1978 by L.L. No. 1-1978 (Ch. 41 of the 1980 Code).
It shall be lawful for any authorized organization, upon obtaining a
license as provided in Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law, to conduct
games of chance within the Town of Wheatland, subject to the provisions of
this chapter, Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law and the New York State
Racing and Wagering Board.
The conduct of games of chance on Sunday is only permitted when it is
specifically provided for in the license issued. No games of chance, however,
shall be conducted on Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, Rosh
Hashanah or Yom Kippur.
The Monroe County Sheriff shall exercise control over and supervision
of all games of chance.
Pursuant to General Municipal Law § 190, Subdivision 3, certain
"repeat" authorized organizations may submit summary applications.
Pursuant to § 187 of the General Municipal Law, this chapter
will also govern games of chance by authorized organizations within the limits
of the Village of Scottsville, Town of Wheatland.
