A. 
Any person or corporation, whether as owner, lessee, architect or builder, or the agent or employee of any of them, who violates or is accessory to the violation of any provision of this chapter or any regulation made under the authority conferred by this chapter or who shall erect, construct, alter, enlarge, convert or move any building or structure without a building permit or in violation of any statement or plans submitted and approved under the provisions of this chapter or who shall use any building, structure or land in violation of this chapter or any regulation made under the authority conferred by this chapter or in violation of the provisions of any building permit or certificate of occupancy or without a building permit or certificate of occupancy where one is required by this chapter shall thereby be guilty of a violation and, on conviction, shall be subject to a fine of not more than $250 for each such violation or imprisonment not to exceed 15 days, or both.
B. 
Any person who fails to abate any said violation of this chapter within five calendar days after written notice has been served personally upon said person, or within 10 days after written notice has been sent to said person by certified mail at said person's home or business address, shall be subject to a civil penalty of $250 with costs, recoverable by a suit brought by the Village and to be retained by it.
C. 
Any said violation of this chapter may also be enjoined pursuant to law.
D. 
The remedies provided for herein shall be cumulative and shall be in addition to any other remedies provided by law.
Each week's continued violation shall constitute a separate additional violation.
This chapter shall take effect immediately after it has been published and posted, as provided by the laws of the State of New York.
If any article, section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this chapter is for any reason held to be unconstitutional, illegal or otherwise invalid, such decision shall not affect the remaining portions of this chapter.
