It is the intent of this chapter to authorize the Building Inspector of the Town of Crawford to issue appearance tickets to persons and businesses in violation of ordinances enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Crawford pursuant to § 130 of the Town Law and over which the office of the Building Inspector is given enforcement jurisdiction pursuant to § 138 of the Town Law. The Town Board of the Town of Crawford enacts this legislation for the purpose of providing for efficient enforcement of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and for removal or repair of unsafe buildings or collapsed structures, and other laws and ordinances of the Town of Crawford.[1]

The Building Inspector of the Town of Crawford shall have the power to issue an appearance ticket as the same is defined in Article 150 of the Criminal Procedure Law.[1]

The power and jurisdiction of this officer is limited to ordinances, codes and local laws enacted by the Town of Crawford pursuant to § 130 of the Town Law and over which the office of the Building Inspector is given enforcement jurisdiction by § 138 of the Town Law.
This chapter does not include the power to issue appearance tickets for violation of the Penal Law of the State of New York.
