Taxation — See Ch. 212.
On and after the effective date of this chapter, the Village of Hamburg
shall cease to be an assessing unit.
The position of Village Assessor in the Village of Hamburg is abolished.
The Board of Assessment Review as now or heretofore existing is abolished.
On and after the effective date of this chapter, real property taxes
in the Village of Hamburg shall be levied on a copy of the applicable part
of the assessment roll of the Town of Hamburg with the taxable status date
of the Town of Hamburg controlling for village tax purposes.
Within five days after the effective date of this chapter the Clerk-Treasurer
of the Village of Hamburg shall file a copy of this chapter with the Town
Clerk and the Assessor of the Town of Hamburg and with the New York State
Board of Real Property Services.
This chapter shall take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary
of State; provided, however, that this chapter is subject to a permissive
referendum. The Clerk-Treasurer shall forthwith publish and post a copy of
this chapter, with notice, in the manner required by Article 9 of the Village
Law.[1]
