GENERAL REFERENCES

A.
The following Fireman's Relief Associations are
hereby recognized as actively engaged in providing fire protection and/or
emergency services in Franklin Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania:
Cashtown Community Fire Company

Gettysburg Fire Department

Arendtsville Community Fire Company

B.
The above-named Fireman's Relief Associations have
been formed for the benefit of their members and their families in case of
death, sickness, temporary or permanent disability or accident suffered in
the line of duty.
C.
The above-named Fireman's Relief Associations, or
their successors, of Franklin Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania, are hereby
designated as the proper Associations to accept and receive such
funds as are due and payable to the Franklin Township Treasurer by the Treasurer
of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or other such state official, from the
tax on premiums from foreign fire insurance companies.
The Franklin Township Board of Supervisors shall annually certify to
the Auditor General of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania the names of the active
Fireman's Relief Associations and the percentage of service they contribute
to the protection of Franklin Township. Such certification shall be on forms
prescribed by the Auditor General.
There is annually appropriated from the Franklin Township Treasurer
all such sums of money that may hereafter be paid into the Franklin Township
Treasury by the Treasurer of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or other such
state official, on account of taxes paid on premiums from foreign fire insurance
companies in accordance with the Act of December 18, 1984, No. 205, Sections
701 et seq. as hereafter amended, supplemented, modified or reenacted by the
General Assembly of Pennsylvania. Such monies received by the Franklin Township
Treasurer from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania shall be distributed to the
duly recognized Fireman's Relief Associations within 60 days of receipt.
The funds shall be distributed on the basis of the percentage of service established
in the certification to the Pennsylvania Auditor General and in accordance
with other provisions of the said Act.
