A commission to be known as the "Planning Commission of Glenolden Borough"
is hereby created and established pursuant to 53 P.S. § 10201.
The Planning Commission of the Borough of Glenolden shall consist of
five members who shall be appointed to said Commission by Borough Council.
Except for the initial appointments made pursuant to this chapter, the
term of each member of the Commission shall be four years, or until his or
her successor is appointed and qualified. Any vacancy arising during an unexpired
term shall be filled by Borough Council for the balance of the unexpired term.
The initial appointments to the Planning Commission shall be made by
Borough Council as follows:
All of the members of the Planning Commission shall be residents of
the municipality.
The Commission shall elect its own Chairman and Vice Chairman and create
and fill such other offices as it may determine. Officers shall serve annual
terms and may succeed themselves. The Commission may make and alter bylaws
and rules and regulations to govern its procedures consistent with the ordinances
of the Municipality and the laws of the commonwealth. The Commission shall
keep a full record of its business and shall annually make a written report
by March 1 of each year of its activities to Borough Council. Interim reports
may be made as often as may be necessary or as requested by Borough Council.
The powers of the duties of the Planning Commission of the Borough of
Glenolden shall be as are set forth in the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning
Code, specifically 53 P.S. § 10209.1, and by the duly
adopted ordinances of the Borough of Glenolden and by any amendments to said
ordinances.
