It is hereby adopted by the Town Council of Denton for the purpose of prescribing minimum requirements and controls to safeguard life, property and public welfare from the hazards of fire and explosion arising from the storage, handling or use of substances, materials or devices and from conditions hazardous to life, property and public welfare in the use or occupancy of buildings, structures, sheds, tents, lots or premises, the certain Fire Prevention Code known as the "BOCA Basic Fire Prevention Code," prepared by the Building Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc., being particularly the 1975 Edition, as amended in 1976, save and except such modification as is set forth in § 56-2 below.
Article 1, Administration and Enforcement, Section F-100.1, shall read as follows:
F-100.1 Title: These regulations as set forth herein shall be known as the "Fire Prevention Code of the Town of Denton" and is herein referred to as such or as "this code."

Any person, persons, firm or corporation who shall violate this chapter, or any part thereof, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction thereof shall be fined in an amount not exceeding $500 for each and every violation thereof, and each day in which any such violation shall continue shall be deemed a separate and distinct offense.
Said BOCA Basic Fire Prevention Code is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and not less than three copies of said Fire Prevention Code have been and are now filed in the office of the Clerk of the Town of Denton.
