A. 
No property owner shall leave uncovered a pool or other body of water used for recreational purposes if such pool has been abandoned for more than one continuous year. For purposes of this article, "abandoned" shall mean the failure to use such pool for recreational purposes for one continuous year, inclusive of a full summer season, from May through September of a given year.
B. 
"To cover" said pool shall mean to secure the entire opening of the pool with any material which shall conform to the safety cover designs as required under ASTM F 15-28.

Any person violating the provisions of § 112-1 hereof shall be guilty of a municipal infraction and, any provision of this Code to the contrary notwithstanding, shall be subject to a fine of $500 for a first offense and $1,000 for each subsequent offense.
