The purpose of this chapter is to authorize the Code Enforcement Officer and persons designated by him to issue and serve appearance tickets in connection with violations of New York State statutes, local laws, ordinances or rules and regulations of the Town of Tonawanda which the Code Enforcement Officer is authorized or required to enforce.
This chapter shall be applicable in the Town of Tonawanda, New York, exclusive of the Village of Kenmore.
A. 
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
APPEARANCE TICKET
A written notice issued and subscribed to by the Code Enforcement Officer and persons designated by him directing a designated person to appear in a designated local Criminal Court at a designated future time in connection with his alleged commission of a designated offense. A notice conforming to such definition constitutes an appearance ticket regardless of whether it is referred to in some other provision of law as a summons or by any other name or title.

Words used in the singular include the plural, and the plural includes the singular. Words used in the masculine gender include the feminine and neuter genders.

The Code Enforcement Officer and persons designated by him are hereby authorized to issue and serve an appearance ticket with respect to violations of New York State statutes, local laws, ordinances, rules or regulations of the Town of Tonawanda that he and his designees are authorized or required to enforce.

An appearance ticket shall be served personally by the Code Enforcement Officer or by persons designated by him on the person designated as the person alleged to have committed a designated offense.
