PLAYING FIELD
A field with one or more athletic facilities that are permitted for use by the Township Department of Parks and Recreation.
A.
The Parks and Recreation Department can close a playing field for a determined period of time for the following reasons:
(1)
The playing field is under construction or renovation.
(2)
The playing field has been damaged by overuse or severe weather.
(3)
The playing field is part of an overall field rotation system.
B.
The Department of Parks and Recreation reserves the right to close a field for any other condition or circumstances that would render the field unusable such as:
(1)
The playing field site is needed for parking during a possible renovation of a nearby building.
(2)
The playing field suffers a sink hole which makes it unplayable.
A.
In order for a playing field to be considered closed, the Township of Radnor shall:
(1)
Announce the closure of the field on the local access cable television station on which Township messages are normally carried with the same degree of frequency other Township messages are carried for a period of at least one week prior to the field closure.
(2)
Advertise at least one week prior to the field closure in at least one newspaper of general circulation in the Township that the field will be closed.
(3)
Post a minimum of two signs at the field indicating that the field is officially closed.
B.
In the event of an emergency field closing such as potential damage to the field from weather conditions, the Township shall not be obligated to satisfy the requirements in Subsection A(1) and (2).
If, when a playing field has been closed, individuals or groups play on a closed field, they would then be considered trespassing. This violation would then be cited and will carry a fine or punishment that shall be determined by the District Justice.
