An owner of real estate in the Town of Lewisboro or a person having a right to possession of such land may protect the same by posting the notices described in § 205-3 of this chapter.
No person not an owner of land or a person having a right to possession of such land, without the permission of said owner or person having a right to possession of said land, shall trespass on private lands in the Town of Lewisboro for any purpose whatsoever after notices are posted thereon as prescribed in this chapter or after personal service on him in the name of the owner of a notice, in writing, containing a description of the premises and warning all persons against trespassing thereon.
The notices to be posted under this chapter shall be not less than 11 inches square, not more than 20 rods apart and close to the boundary thereof. At least one notice shall be posted on each side of said land and one at each corner thereof, provided that said corner can be reasonably ascertained. Such notices shall bear the name and address of the owner of said lands, or the person having the legal right to possession thereof and the following words, covering an area of not less than 80 square inches: "Posted. Trespassing on this land without the permission of the undersigned is forbidden and is punishable by law." The filing with the Town Clerk of an affidavit by or on behalf of the owner of said lands or by or on behalf of the person having the legal right to possession thereof to the effect that said lands have been posted in accordance with this chapter and describing the lands so posted shall be presumptive proof of compliance with the posting provisions of this chapter. Illegible or destroyed notices shall be replaced at least once a year.

Any person who enters upon or trespasses on lands posted in pursuance of this chapter without the permission of the owner or the person who has the right to possession thereof shall be guilty of an offense against this chapter and punishable for the first offense by a fine not less than $25 nor more than $200; for the second offense by a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $500; and for a third or subsequent offense by a fine of not less than $250 nor more than $1,000.
