This chapter is enacted pursuant to the authority of Article 9-A of
the General Municipal Law of the State of New York and shall be known as the
"Games of Chance Chapter of the Town of Salina."
The words and terms used in this chapter shall have the same meanings
as such words and terms are used in Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law.
Authorized organizations may, upon obtainment of a license from the
Town Clerk, conduct games of chance within the town as provided in Article
9-A of the General Municipal Law and as provided further in this chapter.
Such games of chance shall be conducted in accordance with the general state
law and with the rules and regulations of the New York State Racing and Wagering
Board and this chapter.
Any police office or peace officer having jurisdiction, including the
Onondaga County Sheriff Department, shall, in connection with his duties imposed
by law, diligently enforce the provisions of this chapter.
Games of chance on the first day of the week, commonly known as "Sunday,"
may be conducted pursuant to this chapter and appropriate statute and regulation.
