Transporting of passengers with the exception of authorized Village personnel or outsiders on official Village business is absolutely prohibited.
A written log shall be kept of each trip outside the Village to a location other than a Village-owned facility made by the subject vehicle including: date, beginning and ending odometer readings, destination, and purpose. This is in addition to logging overall mileage at the beginning and end of each day.
Any proven infraction of this chapter by the applicable supervisor will result in the permanent forfeiture of the privilege.
A.
A supervisor on vacation must leave his assigned vehicle at an approved location on Village property.
B.
The supervisor shall not utilize his assigned vehicle to travel to and from lunch at home or any other location within or without the Village of Saugerties.
Exceptions to the foregoing restrictions may be specifically approved by action of the Village Board of Trustees only.
[Added 10-6-2008 by L.L. No. 5-2008]
Effective on November 1, 2008, any newly hired supervisor, whether the former supervisory position had a vehicle use privilege under this chapter or not, shall not be permitted to use Village-owned vehicles for transportation to and from his or her place of residence, with the exception of the Police and Fire Chiefs. When necessary for supervisory personnel to be called in on emergencies or to fulfill duties beyond the regular work schedule, travel will be compensated at the mileage rate as determined by resolution of the Village Board.
