Town of Shandaken, NY Chapter 4 Appearance Tickets

§ 4-1 Purpose.

The purpose of this chapter is to authorize public servants of the Town of Shandaken to issue and serve appearance tickets in connection with violations of state statutes, local laws, ordinances or rules and regulations of the town which the public servants are authorized or required to enforce.

§ 4-2 Designation of authorized public servant.

The following public servants of the Town of Shandaken are hereby authorized to issue and serve an appearance ticket with respect to violation of a state statute, a local law, ordinance, rule or regulation of the Town of Shandaken that such public servants are, respectively, required or authorized to enforce:

A. Code Enforcement Officer: zoning, planning, trailers and mobile homes or licensing of occupations or businesses.

B. Constables: parking, public health, safety and welfare, licensing of occupations or businesses.

C. Town Clerk: licensing of occupations and businesses, trailers and mobile homes.

D. Dog control officer: any violation of Ch. 69, Dogs, of the Town Code of the Town of Shandaken concerning dogs as well as violations of the Agricultural and Markets Law of the State of New York with respect to dogs in the Town of Shandaken.

§ 4-3 Personal service. [1]

An appearance ticket other than for a parking violation shall be served personally.
