Pursuant to the authority of Subdivision 4 of § 458-a of the
Real Property Tax Law, the Town of Westfield elects not to have the exemption
of § 458-a applied to the town.
This article, subject to a permissive referendum as provided in § 24
of the Municipal Home Rule Law, shall take effect 30 days after adoption,
except that in the event that a referendum is required it shall take effect
upon approval of the affirmative vote of the majority of the qualified electors
voting on the proposition.[1]
