§ 3-1 Purpose.

The purpose of this chapter is to authorize public servants of the Town of Wheatfield to issue and serve appearance tickets in connection with violations of state statutes, chapters, ordinances or rules and regulations of the Town which the public servants are authorized or required to enforce.

§ 3-2 Authorization to serve appearance tickets. [1]

The following public servants of the Town of Wheatfield are hereby authorized to issue and serve an appearance ticket with respect to violation of a statute, chapter, ordinance, rule or regulation of the State of New York or Town of Wheatfield that such public servants are, respectively, required or authorized to enforce:

A. Building Inspector: building codes; zoning and planning violations as designated; health and safety violations; licensing of occupations or businesses.[2]

B. Constables: parking; vehicles and traffic; public health, safety and welfare; licensing of occupations or businesses.

C. Animal Control Officer: as authorized by state or local law.[3]

§ 3-3 Issuance of ticket.

An appearance ticket other than for a parking violation shall be served personally.
