Town of Wheatfield, NY Article IV Fire Hydrant Obstructions

§ 165-20 Prohibitions.

A. No property owner shall obstruct or impair access to or the view of any fire hydrant in the Town of Wheatfield.

B. No property owner shall permit the accumulation of debris, the planting of shrubs or bushes, or the piling of snow to be made within five feet of a fire hydrant.

§ 165-21 Removal required.

Any property owner who has debris, shrubs or bushes within five feet of a fire hydrant at the effective date of this article shall cause such debris, shrubs or bushes to be removed within 60 days following adoption of this article.

§ 165-22 Penalties for offenses.

The penalty for the first violation of this article shall be $250, with a fine of not less than $500 and not more than $1,000 or imprisonment of not more than 10 days for each succeeding violation.
