Whenever any words and phrases are used in this chapter, the meanings respectively ascribed to them in Subtitle 1 of Title 39 of the New Jersey Statutes Annotated shall be deemed to apply to such words and phrases used herein.
All former traffic ordinances of the Township of Pemberton are hereby repealed, except that this repeal shall not affect or prevent the prosecution or punishment of any person for any act done or committed in violation of any ordinance hereby repealed prior to the taking of this chapter, and except when portions of this chapter are "reserved," inconsistent ordinances will remain in full force and effect until this chapter is amended to activate said "reserved" sections.
If any part or parts of this chapter are held to be invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this chapter.

Unless another penalty is expressly provided by New Jersey statute, every person convicted of violation of a provision of this chapter or of any section of this chapter as implemented by Ord. Nos. 23-1985, 34-1986 and any subsequent amendments thereto, including this ordinance,[1] shall be liable to a penalty of not more than $50 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 days, or both; except that for a violation of Article V (Through Streets, Stop and Yield Intersections), § 182-37, Schedule G: Through Streets, § 182-38, Schedule H: Stop Intersections, and § 182-39, Schedule I: Yield Intersections, the offender shall be liable to a penalty of not less than $50 nor more than $200 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 days, or both.
