A. 
There shall be in the Township of Pennsauken, in the County of Camden and State of New Jersey, a Department of Public Works which shall consist of one Public Works Superintendent; one Assistant Public Works Superintendent; one Public Works Inspector; one Supervisor of Equipment Operations-Streets; one Supervisor of Equipment Operations-Parks; one Equipment Operator, Foreman; one Equipment Operator, Assistant Foreman; senior tree trimmers; equipment operators-sweepers; equipment operators; truck drivers; laborers.
B. 
Said appointments are to be made consistent with Civil Service regulations and examinations and after the review of the recommendations of the Township Administrator by the Township Committee.
A. 
The Department of Public Works shall be responsible for the supervision of solid waste collection; the maintenance of Township streets, properties and vehicles; storm sewers; leaf collection (hand and motorized); open land inspections, the fuel station for Township vehicles; and the implementation of the Township's recycling program. Said Public Works Department shall further be responsible for the placement of bus stop benches; the removal of storm-damaged trees and tree debris; the trimming and/or removal of curbline trees; controlling snow conditions on roads; cutting of weeds and brush (by hand and powered saws); and the inspection of completed contract obligations, such as the Township of Pennsauken's Concrete Repair Program, etc.
B. 
Further, the Public Works Department shall be responsible for providing recreational programs, such as adult programs (basketball league, volleyball league, tennis lessons and tournaments, ski lessons and ski trips, lifesaving courses, etc.) and children's activities (six-week summer playground program; tennis and ski lessons, street hockey league, lifesaving courses, etc.); and for maintaining a myriad of recreational facilities: a municipal swimming pool; the Green Court Tennis Club; public tennis courts; regulation soccer fields, midget soccer fields; industrial softball fields; baseball fields; midget football field; outdoor basketball courts; parks and recreation areas which are maintained and a street hockey court.
