There is hereby established the office of Tax
Collector of the Borough of Seaside Heights pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-141.
The Tax Collector shall be appointed by the
Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Borough Council, and shall
serve for a term of four years, commencing on January 1 of the year
of appointment and ending on December 31 of the fourth year, or until
a successor shall be appointed and qualified. A vacancy in the office
of Tax Collector, other than due to expiration of term, shall be filled
by appointment for the unexpired term.
To be appointed to the position of Tax Collector
for the Borough of Seaside Heights, an individual must be certified
as required pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-141 et seq.
The duties of the Tax Collector shall be as
prescribed by law. The Tax Collector shall perform such other related
duties as are prescribed by the Mayor and Borough Council.
