There is hereby established the office of Water
Repairer in the Borough of Seaside Heights.
The Water Repairer shall be appointed by the
Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Borough Council, and shall
serve a term of one year, commencing on January 1 of the year of appointment
and ending on December 31 of that year, or until a successor or successors
shall be appointed and qualified.
To be appointed to the office of Water Repairer,
an individual must possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey,
only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility,
is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position; possess
knowledge of proper procedures used in making routine and complex
repairs to water mains, pipes and appurtenances; and possess knowledge
of varied types of tools used in the maintenance and repair of water
installations and proper use of these tools.
The duties of Water Repairer, under direction,
shall include the installation, maintenance and repair of mains, valves,
pumps, hydrants and other water service equipment. The Water Repairer
shall also perform such other related work as required.
