This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Numbering of Buildings Ordinance of the City of Gloversville."
A. 
Owner(s) of all principal buildings in the City of Gloversville, New York, used or to be used for residential, commercial, industrial or storage purposes, or any combination thereof, shall display at least one (1) set of street numbers.
B. 
Such numbers shall be a minimum of two and one-half (2 1/2) inches in height, not painted on the structure and mounted in a conspicuous spot near or on the entrance(s) to the building(s) or mounted on a wall or post in the front yard of the premises.

C. 
Buildings having a setback too great for the street numbering to be clearly visible from the street, as defined in Subsection B above, shall display the house numbers on a post, placed so as to be conspicuous and clearly visible from the street.
A. 
Established streets which are already numbered shall use the numbers in use at the time this chapter is enacted.
B. 
New streets and unnumbered lots shall be numbered as directed by the Fulton County Sheriff's Office under its 911 program.

Failure on the part of the property owner(s) to comply with the provisions of this chapter within a period of fifteen (15) days from the date of issuance of notice of violation shall be sufficient cause for the City Engineer or his representative to proceed with carrying out the provisions of this chapter, and, upon conviction in City Court, such owner shall be fined a minimum of ten dollars ($10.), and a maximum of fifty dollars ($50.).
