On those streets and portions of streets listed in Schedule A, which is made part incorporated by reference into and made part of this article,[1] vehicle weight limits are established by authority granted by § 4902(a) of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, and it shall be unlawful for any persons to operate on any of those streets or portions of streets, as the case may be, any vehicle or combination having a gross weight in excess of the maximum prescribed for that street or portion of the street. School buses, emergency vehicles and vehicles making routine local deliveries are exempt from application of this article.
Any person who violates any provision of this article shall be prosecuted under § 4902(a) of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, as amended from time to time, and, upon conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of $75 and costs, and an additional penalty of $150 for each 500 pounds, or part thereof, in excess of 3,000 pounds over the maximum allowable weight as prescribed by § 4902(g)(1), as amended from time to time, of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code.
This article shall be effective on March 1, 2012, and shall remain in force until modified, amended or rescinded by Township of Mount Pleasant, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
