Words and phrases, when used in this article, shall have meanings ascribed to them in the Vehicle Code (the Act of June 17, 1976 P.L. 162 No. 81) as amended. The words streets, roadways, highways and alleys shall have the same meaning as the word "highway" as defined in the Vehicle Code. "Township" means Mount Pleasant Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, a municipal body having its principal address at 31 McCarrell Road Hickory, PA 15340.

A. 
The following streets or roadways shall be designated as having no parking as described below during all times, and it shall be unlawful for any person or corporation to park, or to allow to remain parked, on the designated street and/or roadway any vehicle, except by special event/occasion permit issued by the Mount Pleasant Township Police Department as provided hereunder. B. 
Temporary parking permits. Where parking is otherwise prohibited under Subsection A of this section, the Township Chief of Police may, upon request, issue temporary parking permits for special events or other temporary circumstances, to authorize temporary on-street parking by a resident or by a resident's bona fide visitors, upon the Chief's finding that such proposed temporary on-street parking will not pose undue traffic or other public safety concerns.
C. 
All violations of this section shall be punishable as set forth under the appropriate provisions of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code.

The following maximum speed limits are imposed and no person shall operate a vehicle at a speed in excess of the following:

B. 
An official traffic control device shall be erected and shall indicate the beginning and end of said controlled traffic zone to traffic approaching in each direction.
C. 
The Mount Pleasant Township Police Department is hereby authorized to use any mechanical, electrical and/or electronic device to calculate the speed of a vehicle, for purposes of this article, as approved by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
D. 
This article shall not affect any maximum speed limits established in school zones, bridges, hazardous grades, work zones or railroad crossings.
E. 
Any person violating the maximum speed limits set forth in this section shall, upon conviction by a Magisterial District Judge, be sentenced to pay fines and costs as established by the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Act for exceeding maximum speed limits.
A. 
The following are hereby established as stop intersections, and official stop signs shall be erected in such a position as to face traffic approaching the second-named street (the intersecting or through street) on the first-named street (the stop street) in the direction or directions indicated for that intersection. Every driver of a vehicle approaching the intersection on the first-named street or stop street, in the direction indicated in each case, shall stop the vehicle as required by 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3323(b) of the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code, and shall not proceed into or cross the second-named street or intersection or through street until he or she has followed all applicable requirements of that section of the law.

Any person who violates any provision of this section shall upon conviction of the same be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 costs and any fees set by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania such as for the CAT Fund and EMS.
