All elected officials shall be registered voters of the Municipality, shall have been residents continuously in the Municipality for at least one year prior to filing for election, and must remain residents during their entire term of office.
Before entering on the duties of their offices, all elected and appointed officials of the Municipality shall take and subscribe an oath or affirmation as required by the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
No elected official shall hold any other elected office, nor hold any appointed office of the Municipality, nor be an employee of the Municipality during the term for which the official was elected. No former elected official shall hold any compensated appointed Municipality office nor employment with the Municipality until one year after the expiration of the term for which the official was elected.
The office of an elected official shall become vacant upon the official's death, resignation, forfeiture of office, or removal from office in any manner authorized by this Charter or by the Pennsylvania Constitution, Article VI, Section 7.
A. 
An elected official shall be removed from office by vote of Council if that official:
(1) 
Lacks at any time during the term any qualification for the office prescribed by this Charter or by applicable law;
(2) 
Fails to perform any duty required by this Charter or commits an act prohibited by this Charter;
(3) 
Fails to assume office after election thereto within 45 days after the commencement of the term thereof; or
(4) 
Is convicted of a crime more serious than a summary offense, as defined by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
B. 
No elected official shall forfeit office unless the holder thereof shall have been given written notice of the grounds for forfeiture and, if requested, a public hearing before Council.
