A Police Department is hereby established in and for the Borough of
New Wilmington. Such Police Department shall be composed of the Chief of Police
and as many part-time or full-time policemen as the Council shall from time
to time authorize. The Chief of Police shall be, under the direction of the
Mayor, in charge of the Police Department and have supervision over the part-time
policemen, in the exercise of their powers, duties and authority.
The compensation of the Chief of Police and of the part-time policemen
shall be as determined by the Borough Council from time to time.
Nothing in this chapter shall affect the authority of the Mayor to appoint
special policemen.
