The Norco Fire Company and its volunteer members are authorized by the North Coventry Township Board of Supervisors to perform the following duties, in addition to the normal fire-fighting, rescue and emergency medical duties:
A. 
Participation in drills, practices, training sessions and pre-fire planning activities authorized by the Fire Chief and supervised by a qualified instructor or a fire officer.[1]

B. 
Participation in community celebrations, housings, parades and funerals where such attendance is deemed appropriate by the Fire Chief. The first out Engine and Rescue may attend only in the 19464 or 19465 zip codes. All other apparatus may participate regardless of miles.[2]

C. 
Performing duties necessary to prepare the fire station for use as a distribution center or a polling place for the primary or general elections. This is extended to include like services performed at other Township or School District buildings.
D. 
Preparation for and responsible participation in parades, providing that attendance has the prior approval of the fire company. Participation more than 10 miles outside Township borders must have prior approval of the Township Board of Supervisors.
E. 
Any public service functions performed for the welfare of the community, including recovery of animals, as long as these activities are responsibly supervised and are sanctioned by the fire company.
F. 
Any and all public safety activities undertaken by the fire company members to render care to the injured, prevent loss of life, provide comfort and security to victims, and limit or prevent damage to or loss of property as circumstances may dictate.
G. 
Rendering assistance to police officers where such aid is specifically requested or is done without request to protect the public welfare from imminent danger, including fire police duties.
H. 
Participation in fire prevention activities, post-fire investigations, bomb searches and evacuation drills.[3]

I. 
Participating in public programs to promote health and safety, to enlist new members or to solicit community support, or conducting fund-raising activities, provided that no compensation is paid to the member for engaging in the fund-raising activity, 100% of the net proceeds go to the fire company, and the fund-raising activity is sanctioned by the fire company.
J. 
Safely and responsibly performing maintenance and remodeling work on Norco Fire Company vehicles, buildings, grounds or equipment.
K. 
Providing emergency services within and outside the Township under formal mutual assistance agreements with other emergency organizations.
L. 
Such other duties necessary for the efficient operation of the volunteer services as may, from time to time, be assigned by the Township Board of Supervisors and by the fire officers of the Norco Fire Company as may be defined within the constitution and bylaws of the volunteer fire company.[4]
