GENERAL REFERENCES

A.
There is hereby created a Recreation Board, hereinafter
referred to as the "Board."
B.
The Board shall be appointed by the Council of the Borough
of Punxsutawney and shall consist of seven members who are residents of the
Borough of Punxsutawney or who have their place of business within the Borough
of Punxsutawney.

C.
In addition, one member of the Borough Council shall
be appointed by the Council President to be a nonvoting member of such Board.

Each member of the Board shall serve for a term of four years, computed
from the date of his appointment by the Council.
A.
The Board shall select one of its members to act as Chairman
and another to act as Vice Chairman. The Vice Chairman shall preside at all
meetings where the Chairman is absent or has a personal interest in the matter
before the Board.
B.
Meetings of the Board may be called by the Chairman or
the Secretary upon reasonable notice to the other members of the Board.
C.
A majority of the Board shall constitute a quorum.
It shall be the function of the Board to provide, improve, maintain
and regulate public parks, parkways and playgrounds, playfields, swimming
pools, indoor recreation centers and other places of recreation within the
Borough limits of the Borough or in any adjacent township.
