[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the Township of Swatara 11-13-1985 by Res. No. R-1985-41 (Ch. 1, Part 8, of the 1990 Code). Amendments noted where applicable.]
GENERAL REFERENCES
Volunteer Fire Department — See Ch. 27.
There is annually appropriated from the Township Treasurer all such sums of money that may hereafter be paid into the Township Treasury by the Treasurer of the State of Pennsylvania on account of taxes paid on premiums of foreign fire insurance companies in pursuance of 1984 Act of December 18, No. 205, § 701 et seq.,[1] as hereafter amended, supplemented, modified or reenacted by the General Assembly of Pennsylvania. Such monies received by the Township Treasurer from the State Treasurer shall be distributed to the Swatara Township Firemen's Relief Association within 60 days of its receipt. The funds shall be distributed on the basis of the percentage of service established in the certification to the Auditor General and with any other provisions of the Act.

The Board of Commissioners shall annually certify, to the Auditor General of the Commonwealth, the name or names of the act of association or associations providing fire protection and/or emergency service in the Township and the percentage of service they contribute to the protection of the Township. Such certification shall be on forms provided by the Auditor General.
