A. 
The Board of Supervisors of Union Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, is authorized by 53 P.S. § 65607, as amended, to employ or hire such persons as may be necessary for the general conduct of the business of the Township; and
B. 
The Board of Supervisors of Union Township, Berks County, is authorized to provide insurance coverage, including but not limited to health insurance, annuities or pensions in an effort to compensate such Township employees in accordance with 53 P.S. § 66512, as amended.
The Board of Supervisors of Union Township is authorized to establish from time to time, by resolution, definitions of categories of employment, terms of employment, vacation leave, health insurance and other insurance coverage, including but not limited to pensions and annuities and all other rules and regulations necessary to regulate the terms of employment for employees hired by the Board of Supervisors of Union Township, in order for the business of the Township to be conducted.[1]
