Any tent, temporary grandstand, temporary building or temporary structure of any nature or kind erected in this Township for the temporary assemblage, grouping or gathering of people shall be examined and approved as to safety from fire hazards and safety in construction and erection before people are permitted to assemble or gather in or at the same, by the Chief of the Fire Department of this municipality, or Chief of the fire company in the area in which the tent, temporary grandstand, temporary building or temporary structure is erected or to be erected, as well as by the Construction Official of this municipality.
No tent, temporary grandstand, temporary building or temporary structure shall be constructed, erected or maintained on any ground in this Township where there is any flammable material within 100 feet of same.
No person shall erect, maintain or use any tent, temporary grandstand, temporary building or temporary structure for the purposes referred to in § 217-1 hereof without first getting written approvals of the Chief of the Fire Department or Chief of the fire company, and the Construction Official, which written approvals shall be kept on the premises while the premises are used for said purposes, and said permits shall be exhibited upon request to any police officer, fire company official, fireman or municipal official checking upon any of said matters in his official capacity and in the performance of his duties.
No person shall use or permit to be used any tent other than a fireproof tent for the gathering or assembling of people in this municipality.
Any person convicted of a violation of any of the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to a penalty of a fine of not exceeding $400 or imprisonment in the common jail of the County of Ocean for a term of not exceeding 30 days, or both, at the discretion of the Municipal Court before whom said conviction is had.
