Editor's Note: Former Ch. 23, Municipal Utilities
Authority, adopted 2-25-1970, was deleted upon the dissolution of
the Municipal Utilities Authority on 7-10-1974 by Ord. No. 4-0-74.
There is hereby established an Open Space and
Recreation Advisory Committee (hereafter "the Committee").

The Committee shall consist of the Mayor, Borough
Administrator, two members of the Borough Council and eight additional
members of the public who shall be appointed by the Council. The members
of the public shall be initially appointed for terms as follows: three
members for one year, three members for two years, and two members
for three years, and upon the expiration of the above terms, all appointments
shall be for three years. Vacancies in the membership appointed by
the Council shall be filled for the unexpired terms.
The members of the Committee shall choose annually
from among its members a chairperson and such other officers as it
may deem necessary. A majority of the members shall constitute a quorum
of the Committee. The Committee shall adhere to and be governed by
the provisions of the Open Public Meeting Act.[1]

The Committee shall inquire into and make recommendations
to the Council about matters pertaining to the acquisition, maintenance,
development and preservation of the lands for open space and recreation
purposes; cooperate with other relevant governmental and nongovernmental
organizations in formulating its recommendations; and perform such
other duties as assigned by the Council.
