A.Â
When any vehicle is parked or abandoned on any highway
within this Town during a snowstorm, flood, fire or other public emergency
which affects that portion of the public highway upon which said vehicle
is parked or abandoned, said vehicle may be removed by the Town Highway
Department or by the Town of Haverstraw Police Department's authorization.
B.Â
When any vehicle is found unattended on any highway
within this Town where said vehicle constitutes an obstruction to
traffic, said vehicle may be removed upon authorization of the Police
Department.
C.Â
When any vehicle is parked or abandoned on any highway
within this Town where stopping, standing or parking is prohibited,
said vehicle may be removed upon authorization of the Police Department.
A.Â
After removal of any vehicle as provided in this Article,
such vehicle will be stored in a suitable place at the expense of
the owner. In order to redeem a vehicle, all expenses for removal
and storage must be paid to either the towing agency or the Town of
Haverstraw.
B.Â
The Town of Haverstraw charge shall be $25 per day
for inside storage and $15 per day for outside storage.
C.Â
The charge for a private towing agency shall be the
rate set by the towing agency in its regular course of business.
