Any person who desires information concerning birth, marriage or death certificates filed with the Registrar of Vital Statistics of the Township of Toms River, and is legally entitled thereto under the provisions of Title 26 of the Revised Statutes of the State of New Jersey, may obtain such information from the Registrar of Vital Statistics upon complying with the requirements of this chapter.
The person desiring such information shall file an application for a birth, marriage or death certificate. The form of this application shall be devised by the Registrar of Vital Statistics and shall be kept on hand at the office of the Registrar within the Township.

A. 
There shall be required, prior to any search for a birth, death or marriage certificate, a written request which provides the specific year or years to be searched and the fees for such search.
B. 
There shall be fixed and established a fee of $4 for the search of birth, death or marriage certificates when the correct year is supplied in advance of the search.
C. 
There shall be fixed and established an additional search fee of $1 per year for each additional year requested to be searched.
D. 
The above search fee shall be charged even when the record is not found.
E. 
When a certificate is found pursuant to a requested search, a certified duplicate of such birth, death or marriage certificate shall be provided to the requestor at no additional charge.
F. 
If no death, birth or marriage certificate is found as per the request, the requestor shall be entitled to no refund of the search fee, or any part thereof.[1]

All fees paid to the Registrar for searches and for the provision of the certificates named herein shall be deposited in the general account of the Township of Toms River.
