Pursuant to Act No. 170 of 1988 of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, known as the "Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code,"[1] a Planning Committee, consisting of all of the members of Borough Council of the Borough of Parkside, be and the same is hereby created.

The Planning Committee shall consist of eight members who shall be the duly elected or appointed members of Council of the Borough of Parkside and the Mayor of Parkside.
The powers and duties of the Planning Committee of the Borough of Parkside shall be as set forth by the powers granted by the reenactment of the Municipalities Planning Code 1988, December 21, Act No. 170 of 1988, Article II, § 10209.1, in addition to the powers and duties pursuant to its creation under § 21-1.
A. 
The Borough Solicitor shall act as the legal advisor to the Planning Committee of the Borough of Parkside, at the Committee's request, from time to time as the need arises
B. 
The Borough Engineer shall act as the engineering advisor to the Planning Committee of the Borough of Parkside, at the Committee's request, from time to time as the need arises.
Any person, firm, corporation or other business or legal entity that wishes to subdivide property or to undertake new construction of any type or wishes to make additions to existing structures shall first make application to the Borough of Parkside Planning Committee. The form of the application shall be that form that is prescribed from time to time by the Borough Council of the Borough of Parkside.
Any person, firm, corporation or other business or legal entity who makes application to the Planning Committee of the Borough of Parkside shall submit with said application five copies of the requisite subdivision, building and site plans. All such plans shall be drawn to scale and shall be sealed by a registered architect or engineer.
