Pursuant to New York State law, Town Clerks, upon behalf of their towns, are entitled to collect a fee upon the issuance of a certificate of marriage registration, issuance of a marriage license, certificate of marriage or certification thereof.
The fee amount fluctuates and is based upon a dollar amount set in New York State law.
It is the intent of the Town of Maine Town Board to collect the maximum fee amount authorized by New York State law for the issuance of marriage licenses and other marriage documentation, as allowed under law.
Therefore, the Town of Maine Town Clerk is authorized to collect the maximum fee amounts for the issuance of a certificate of marriage registration, issuance of a marriage license, certificate of marriage or certification thereof.

Pursuant to and in accordance with the provisions of the local law entitled, "A Local Law of the Town of Maine Amending the Town of Maine Zoning Ordinance (Building Permit, Excavation Permit, Sign and Floodplain Permit Fees)," Town of Maine Local Law No. 1 of the Year 2004, and pursuant to and in accordance with the provisions of the Town of Maine local law entitled, "A Local Law of the Town of Maine Amending an Ordinance Entitled, 'Mobile Home, Mobile Home Park and Travel Trailer Ordinance'," Town of Maine Local Law No. 8 of the Year 2007, the Town Board hereby fixes, sets and establishes the following fees:
A. 
The fee for a building permit for the erection or construction of a single-family dwelling or two-family dwelling shall be $200; provided, however, that the fee for a building permit for a mobile home in a mobile home park shall be $75, and the fee for a building permit for a mobile home not located in a mobile home park shall be $100.
B. 
The fee for a building permit for the enlargement, alteration, movement or relocation of a single-family dwelling, two-family dwelling, mobile home, agricultural pursuit or farm pond shall be $50.
C. 
The fee for a building permit for the erection, construction, enlargement or alteration of a commercial building, industrial building, three-family dwelling, detached garage, pole barn or any dwelling larger than a two-family dwelling shall be $0.35 per square foot of floor area; provided, however, that in the case of any structures owned by a tax-exempt entity, the fee shall be $0.10 per square foot of floor area, and in the case of any structure owned by a fire company, fire district or ambulance squad or emergency services squad, there shall be no fee for a building permit.
D. 
The fee for a building permit for the erection, construction, alteration, movement or relocation of a storage shed, deck, or nonhabitable farm building shall be $10.
E. 
The fee for a building permit for an in-ground swimming pool shall be $50, and the fee for a building permit for an aboveground swimming pool shall be $25.
F. 
The fee for a building permit for excavation, if not made or begun in connection with the erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, movement or relocation of a structure or building, shall be in the amount of $25 for each 500 square feet of area to be excavated.
G. 
The fee for a permit to demolish an existing structure or building shall be $50.
H. 
The fee for a floodplain development permit shall be $100.
I. 
The fee for a permit for the erection, construction, enlargement, expansion, alteration or relocation of a sign shall be as follows:
(1) 
A fee of $2 per square foot of area for each of the following signs, wherever the same are permitted: a home occupation sign, a business sign, a display sign, a double-faced or V-type sign, a ground sign, a projecting sign, a wall sign, a professional office sign, a shopping plaza sign, a shopping center sign, a window sign or a permanent sign.
(2) 
No other sign shall require any fee for a permit.
J. 
The fee for a building permit for a telecommunications structure or telecommunications tower shall be $2,500, and the fee for a building permit for an antenna which is to be affixed to a telecommunications structure or telecommunications tower shall be $500.
K. 
Under the Mobile Home, Mobile Home Park and Travel Trailer Ordinance[1] of the Town of Maine enacted June 11, 1974, and thereafter amended:
(1) 
The applicant for a license for a mobile home park shall pay to the Town of Maine an application fee in the amount of $75, and thereafter an annual fee in the amount of $75.
(2) 
The applicant for a license for a travel trailer camp shall pay to the Town of Maine an application fee for the establishment of a travel trailer camp in the amount of $125, and thereafter an annual fee in the amount of $125.

L. 
Under the Town of Maine Zoning Ordinance[2] adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Maine on April 11, 1972, and amended thereafter:
(1) 
Each applicant to the Zoning Board of Appeals requesting a use variance, area variance, special extension or interpretation shall pay to the Town of Maine an application fee in the amount of $100, which includes, among other things, reimbursement to the Town for its expenses incurred in publishing the notice of public hearing relating to such application.

(2) 
Each applicant who submits an application or petition to the Town Board of the Town of Maine requesting an amendment to the Town of Maine Zoning Ordinance or a supplement, change, modification or repeal of any regulation, provision or section of the Town of Maine Zoning Ordinance shall pay to the Town of Maine an application fee in the amount of $60.
(3) 
Each applicant who submits an application to the Town of Maine to add any antenna or antennas to existing wireless telecommunications facilities in the Town of Maine shall pay to the Town of Maine an application fee in the amount of $2,000. Said application fee shall be paid in addition to the deposits required to the paid to the Town pursuant to § 450-83B of the Town of Maine Zoning Ordinance to reimburse the Town for all reasonable costs of consultants, expert evaluations and consultations with the Town Board.
(4) 
The fee for a home occupation permit for a home occupation on the Home Occupation Approved List shall be in the amount of $20.
