There shall be a Traffic Commission consisting
of the Selectmen, duly elected and serving as such, which shall have
all the duties and responsibilities conferred upon Traffic Commissions
by the General Laws, and especially including the authority conferred
upon such Commissions by MGL c. 90, §§ 18 and 18A, and upon
towns by MGL c. 40, § 22, as such provisions may be from time
to time amended, except for jurisdiction over traffic calming measures,
including but not limited to the placement and replacement of speed
bumps, speed humps, speed tables and speed cushions within Town ways,
which measures may be implemented by the Board of Public Works without
the issuance of an order or the adoption of a rule or regulation by
the Selectmen.
