GENERAL REFERENCES
Ordinances adopted by Board of Health — See Part III of Code.
There shall be a local Board of Health in and for the Township of Chester in accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A 26:3-3 et seq. and N.J.S.A. 26:3-9 et seq.
The said Board shall consist of not less than five nor more than seven members, who shall be appointed by the Mayor of the Township.
The Board of Health may, by ordinance, provide for the appointment of two alternate members pursuant to N.J.S.A. 26:3-3.[1]

If any vacancy shall occur on the Board, it shall be filled by appointment by the Mayor for the unexpired portion of the term only.
Said Board of Health shall appoint such officers as are required by statute and may appoint such other officers or assistants as it may deem necessary.
