The position of Chester Township Chief Financial Officer is hereby established. The Chief Financial Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council for a one-year term.
Any individual appointed as Chief Financial Officer shall be qualified as a certified Municipal Financial Officer pursuant to the terms and conditions of Section 5 of P.L. 1988, c. 110[1] and must carry out the responsibility set forth under P.L. 1947, c. 151[2] and N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.1 et seq., as amended.

The compensation of the Chief Financial Officer shall be fixed annually by ordinance.[1]
